Diving Deeper into the Scriptures

Tuesdays, February 10 - March 24 | 7-8:10pm | Classroom B, Green Lake Sanctuary Building

In the last thirty to forty years, a flood of new archaeological information has become available about the Ancient Near East during Old Testament times. There are over a million pieces of cuneiform texts that give us an ever increasing understanding of the cultures that made up the Old Testament world.

Though the Bible stands alone as God’s inspired Word, this new information gives us better insight into how the Israelites would have understood the Scriptures in their own time and culture.

In this class we will consider the work of Biblical scholars in some specific areas of Scripture, with the goal of understanding it as their original audience would have. What you learn will deepen and transform your faith!
